Residents surrounding the Fiddlers Green sports field have raised concerns regarding the spotlights left on 24/7. According to the residents, the spotlights have not been turned off after the festival, not even during load shedding.

The sports field was used as a fairground during the festival. Various fun rides were set up for the community's amusement, especially the children. However, seven weeks later, the spotlights still shine as bright as they did during the festival.

Ward 8 councillor, Cary Clark, says they were unaware of this as the residents filed no formal complaints or inquiries. She also stated that they would look into the matter.

Residents are apprehensive that those spotlights are wasting so much electricity. Yet, there are many street lights in town that are not working. Many residents believe this is caused by the stripping of the lights for metal parts.

Unfortunately, the relevant municipal officials could not be reached to comment on the matter.
